As this trend of remastering is quite popular lately, some people were hoping that we might see the legendary Morrowind with new, hot and updated visuals as well. Sadly, Todd Howard confirmed that Bethesda has no intention of remastering the old classic.

Howard gave an interview for The Guardian and he pointed out that he's happy to see Morrowind on the Xbox One backwards compatibility list. He believes that Bethesda has no reason do a remaster as well....at least for now.

This is what he said: "I'm happy that you can play Morrowind now on an Xbox One, as it's backwards compatible. I'm really happy that Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and others are making it easier for people to play [older games] as they were played at the time. I actually prefer that over remasters. For Skyrim remastered, we had done some work on it but it was already pretty visually close. But for something like Morrowind, my personal preference is not to remaster it".

At the same time, Howard also confirmed that Bethesda will not be releasing a remaster of Fallout 1 either. So, I guess that's a double facepalm for us.

Anyway, at least we can still enjoy the timeless quality of the original Morrowind. Speaking of that, I have some quests to finish...
