Just yesterday, we reported that Sony may not give up on portable gaming just yet but, at this point, we can also add that they might have something else in store as well. Namely, they might be working on a PlayStation Classic Edition!

Kodera gave an interview for Mantan Web and, even though nothing is officially confirmed, we can certainly read "beyond the written lines". As he stated, they are "always digging up past assets" and there "have been discussions happening (within the company) on what kind of ways are there". It certainly isn't a confirmation of PlayStation Classic Edition (yet) but, if you read twice, we may be heading there without a doubt.

It's worth reminding that Nintendo has been very successful with its own "re-editions" of the original NES and SNES consoles so there's no doubt that others want a slice of that cookie as well. And, just like it was a blast to replay some of the old classics on those two particular consoles, it will certainly be equally epic to replay some of the Sony's trademarks as well. Just replaying games like Final Fantasy VII, the original Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night will be totally worth it already!

We will be monitoring this situation and give an update once we (hopefully) get the official confirmation.
