We now have the official release date for Sonic Mania Plus

Sonic Mania saw an impressive success last summer and, if anyone wondered whether the days of everyone's favorite blue hedgehog have been watered down, this was the definitive proof - no, he is just as alive as he ever was!

We also wrote about Sonic Mania Plus, an enhanced version of the initial release. Even though we knew it's coming this summer, we had no idea about the actual release. But, the folks at Sega got us covered here and now we know that Sonic Mania Plus is coming on July 17 and it will be available on all popular consoles - Switch, Xbox One and (of course) PS4 as well.

As you probably learned already, Sonic Mania Plus will be bringing a bunch of new additions and improvements compared to the original Sonic Mania. One of the biggest innovations will be a so-called Encore Mode but we will also get 2 new playable characters (Ray the Flying Squirrel and Mighty the Armadillo) as well as the new Time Attack and Competition modes. And that's not all as we will also get some physical goodies like the official artbook, holographic packaging and a special Sega cover art on top of that as well.

If you already have a copy of Sonic Mania, you can easily upgrade to the newest version for only £3.99 but, even if that's not the case, you will still be able to get a standalone copy nonetheless. Brace yourselves Sonic fans, this will be an exciting summer!
