Sonic Mania Plus has just been announced
and it's coming to Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
Sonic Mania has been a good showcase of how the traditional Sonic gameplay still holds up even to this very day. The fact that it was so successful directly implied that there will be some additional content to make it last even longer.
As Sega announced today, Sonic Mania Plus will hit all the popular consoles (PS4, Xbox One and Switch) and it will include some bonuses like the new playable characters and some extra content as well.
The new modes that will be introduced with this bonus pack include the new Encore mode and an expanded 4-player competition mode. The new characters that we will be able to choose (and play with) are Mighty and Ray and some of the hottest content additions that we should expect to see include the special 32-page artbook and some exotic Holographic packaging. ...that's only a part of the whole story that we are yet to see!
We don't have the exact release date for this updated version of Sonic Mania but, we do know that it's coming this summer. If the original (vanilla) version of the game was good enough to be the gaming highlight of the last summer, I see no reason why Sonic Mania Plus won't be able to achieve the same this year.
