The old RTS titan called Warcraft III is alive and kicking! Just a couple of days ago we wrote about an invitational event coming to the game and now we have some new changes as well.

The number of live servers that are hosting this RTS beast has been increased to 24 and, after such a long time period, the game now also supports widescreen as well! But, as it appears, that is not all, far from it.

As one of the developers (Peter Stilwell) wrote: "Join us in testing widescreen support, hero balance changes, and updates to Map Pools for 1's, 2's, 3's, 4's and Free-for-All. We've also added some experimental modes like 24 player support for custom games". Some experimental modes have been added but, judging from the tone, it appears that we may get more of them in the future as well. You can read the full info right here.

It really does seem strange that such an old game is getting this much attention lately but, I will repeat my own suspicions, I truly believe that Blizz is warming us up for a remaster or maybe....just maybe we might also get Warcraft 4 as well. Ok, I admit, I might be dreaming too much but...really, who knows?! We are open for surprises anytime. In any case, it's great to see that Blizz takes good care of their beloved franchises regardless of age. If only Diablo could get the same treatment as well *cough* *cough*.
