When it comes to Alien games, it seems like we don't have a middle ground. We either get a really good game that sticks around in our memory or we get a disaster that we want to forget as soon as possible. Alien: Isolation was a really outstanding title and, even though you couldn't just blow your way through hordes of monsters in a true God-like fashion, it was a very well executed stealth game that required some real strategic thinking in order to complete the basic objectives. But then we have Aliens: Colonial Marines that was supposed to be a great shooter but it ended up being a massive disaster instead.

Well, for those of you who were hoping for a great Alien shooter, I have some great news! A new Alien game is indeed being developed! The team behind it is Cold Iron Studios, a young studio that was founded in 2015. Now, you may be wondering who these guys are but, if we tell you that the developers working on this game used to work on some iconic titles like Neverwinter, Borderlands, Bioshock Infinite and a true classic that is Metroid Prime, you can surely raise your expectations up!

We barely have any info on what to expect from this game other than the fact that it will be a "shooter for PC and consoles set in the cinematic universe of the Alien franchise", as it was stated by the devs themselves. Furthermore, we don't even know what consoles will be included in the release and we don't have a set date either.

This little blurb, however, is very inspiring: "We believe in FoxNext's vision and we are thrilled about the opportunity to explore an amazing and rich universe. Our background in building online worlds and taking established franchises to the next level in interactive entertainment is a precise fit with our product road map ahead; we can't wait to share more information soon".

I can't wait to see the final game and I can only hope that these guys will be able to recreate the atmosphere seen in Isolation. At the same time, though, I really hope for a much better shooting experience than the one we had in Colonial Marines. That would, indeed, be a perfect mix.
