Although it's still not officially confirmed, we may end up getting a new Fable game even despite the fact that Lionhead Studios is disbanded for, practically, 2 years now. We were getting some hints from Playground Games (the same team who stands behind the Forza Horizon games) that this may be a possibility too. Not so long ago, there were statements coming from the company that they want to "test themselves in a new genre". After that, one of the developers who was actively involved in the making of Forza Horizon has confirmed that he is working on a brand new RPG game.

And now, one of the main people behind the previous Fable games (Dene Carter) spoke directly to Eurogamer about the possibility of a new Fable game. This is what he said: "On the one hand it's great for the UK games industry and very pleasing that Fable isn't dead. Indeed, it will be lovely to play one as a punter, without coming out in hives. On the other hand, it is a little curious to get rid of the team that is uniquely expert in making Fable, and then try and make Fable. Fable is a weird game, and a tough one to deconstruct for a new team. That said, the team in question is very talented, and I'm sure they'll do a fantastic job".

As it was reported here, Microsoft has handed over the duty to Playground Games to develop the new Fable game. The same thing was announced by Forbes earlier on as they also linked these two entities in the context of this new project.

We are still waiting for the official confirmation from Microsoft themselves but we are really looking forward to playing another Fable game in the future. And we hope it's a great one!
