2017 is over but we are still summing up the records as well as the best moments from it. Sony is doing the same thing and they have now officially revealed the 10 best-selling PSN titles of the past year for both Europe and the United States.

Let's take a quick look at both of these lists:

Top 10 best-selling PSN games for Europe

1. FIFA 2018
2. Call of Duty: WWII
3. Rocket League
4. GTA V
5. Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy
6. Horizon Zero Dawn
7. ARK: Survival Evolved
8. FIFA 2017
9. EA Sports UFC 2
10. Rainbow Six Siege

Top 10 best-selling PSN games for the United States

1. Call of Duty: WWII
2. Destiny 2
3. Friday the 13th
4. Horizon: Zero Dawn
5. GTA V
6. NBA 2K18
7. Rocket League
8. Minecraft
9. Madden NFL 18
10. Ghost Recon Wildlands

To be honest, although I did expect to see some of these names (in both cases), there are some surprises as well. To be more precise, I certainly didn't expect FIFA 2018 to actually claim the top spot for Europe. Furthermore, FIFA 2017 also made it to the top 10 as well as UFC 2. That basically means that nearly half of these entries are all sports games. I also expected to see Destiny 2 in the top 10 for Europe as well.

On the other hand, there are some surprises when it comes to the US as well. Highly controversial Friday the 13th managed to reach the 3rd spot of the best-selling PS4 games while Rocket League scored much lower than expected. No FIFA game made it to the top 10 here (and not a surprise really) but NBA 2k18 managed to reach top 5 while Madden NFL 18 secured a soft spot at rank #9.

Speaking of both lists, the newest Call of Duty nailed down the sales records yet again and the popularity of Rockstar's GTA V doesn't seem to go away. Horizon: Zero Dawn is a success in both regions and (interestingly enough) Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy did surprisingly well in the EU. Maybe there is some life left in our old buddy Crash after all.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing the sales records for this year as well (when the time comes).
