Jeff Kaplan gives an update on what's coming next to Overwatch

Judging by what this legendary game director says in the latest video, 2018 will be a very exciting year for Overwatch.

After making a brief recap of 2017, the very first thing that Kaplan mentions in the update video is a set of new skins that will hit live very soon. The team is also striving to enhance the competitive aspects of the game and the launch of Overwatch League will be a perfect opportunity to raise this bar to a whole new level. Blizzard is also working on a new map called "Blizzard World Map". Jeff believes that this is their best map to date and he says that it includes "plenty of Easter Eggs" as well. Judging by the description, this is certainly intriguing.

That's not all yet as Kaplan reveals that the new hero is already in internal testing and it should be available to everyone pretty soon. He notes that this hero in particular (Hero 27) is very needed for the game and the whole team is already having a blast from just testing it. And if they are having plenty of fun, why shouldn't that be the case with us as well?

There will be new events coming along the road as well. One of them is a Year of the Dog event. This will be a Lunar New Year event similar to Year of the Rooster from last year. The event will start off very soon and, as Kaplan stated, "there is some pretty significant content that players are going to be very happy with". There will be another anniversary event and that is the (updated) Uprising event. That one may even be up near the end of this month. Following that, there will be plenty of new content added to the base loot box as well.
