Last week at ChinaJoy 2017, a Chinese version of E3, Microsoft announced that a downloadable car will be available for free in Forza Horizon 3 starting this week.

It will come in the form of the Regalia, the sleek-looking black car that Noctis and his pals drive around in Final Fantasy XV. Microsoft also provided more details about the Regalia on Xbox Wire.

There is one requirement before players can avail of the free DLC: They need to have played Final Fantasy XV on Xbox One and/or Forza Horizon 3 on Xbox One or PC by August 1, 2017. Forza Horizon 3 players will receive the Regalia through the in-game messaging system. While Final Fantasy XV players will get a redeem code through the Xbox Live messaging system.

However, if you won't be able to meet the requirements by the deadline but plan to play Forza Horizon 3 and get your hands on the Regalia sometime in the future, it seems you're out of luck. There are currently no plans to include the car, which comes with a 7.2-liter supercharged V12, in another separate DLC in the future.

GameSpot has reached out to Microsoft to ask whether the Regalia will be available in another package in the future. A Microsoft spokesperson told GameSpot that, at the moment, there are no plans. This means if you miss out on the Regalia this week, you won't have another chance to get it unless Microsoft includes it in a future DLC pack.

But it is worth noting that the Warthog from Halo was later made available in Forza Horizon 3 via other means after it was only available to players who have played specific Halo titles. So players who won't be able to meet the requirements for the Regalia in time will have to hope and wait for another shot.

Forza Horizon 3 was released in September 2016 for Xbox One and PC. Final Fantasy XV launched two months later in November for Xbox One and PS4.
