Capcom has announced that Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will arrive on September 19, 2017. The next installment in the long-running crossover fighting game series will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

We also got our first look at the game's story, which will feature Ultron Sigma as the main villain. Ultron Sigma is the combination of Ultron from the Marvel universe and Sigma from the Mega Man X series.

New characters joining the party were also revealed: Ultron, Hulk, Thor, Rocket Raccoon and Hawkeye for Team Marvel, and Chun-Li, Strider Hiryu and Chris Redfield for Team Capcom. They will join previously announced characters Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Ryu, Mega Man X, and Morrigan.

Aside from the standard $60 package, Capcom also announced details of the game's two premium editions. The Deluxe Edition will come with the base game and the 2017 Character Pass that will give you access to six post-release characters, with the first one being Sigma himself. Yep, one-half of Ultron Sigma will arrive as post-release content. Typical. The Deluxe Edition is priced at $90.

The Collector's Edition, meanwhile, will arrive with the Deluxe Edition of the game, a box containing LED-powered replicas of the six Infinite Stones, and four interlinking statues of Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Chun-Li, and Mega Man. This lovely package will be available for $200. The Mad Titan Thanos probably already has his pre-order punched for the Collector's Edition.

Furthermore, pre-ordering the Standard Edition will get you the "Warrior Thor" and "Evil Ryu" costumes, while pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition will get you the "Gladiator Hulk" and "Command Mission X" costumes to go along with those Thor and Ryu alternate costumes. These pre-order goodies only apply to North America, however.

Infinite is the sixth main installment in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Unlike previous games in the series, Infinite features 2-on-2 fights instead of the usual 3-on-3. The Infinity Stones are also part of the gameplay. Depending on the stone, characters are granted temporary bonuses in the form of unique abilities and stat boosts.
