The Eldar are a dying race, manipulative and dangerous as any of the Imperium's foes. They think nothing of sacrificing a few petty human worlds compared to saving one shining Craftworld in the void. They are excellent hit and run opponents and have fearsome suppression abilities in Dawn of War 2. They are able to move swiftly over the battlefield and their units are highly trained at guerrilla warfare.

Guardian Squad

Eldar Guardians are quick and agile; their strength lies in mounting a swift defence or attack. They can deploy energy shields and are led by a Warlock.

Guardian Squad Abilities

Fleet of Foot: The Eldar gain a burst of speed, this reduces their damage.

Plasma Grenade: A powerful grenade that causes suppression and damages units. (Requires Battle Equipment)

Energy Shield: A deployable shield that protects the Eldar behind it. (Requires Battle Equipment)

Embolden: The Eldar steel themselves for battle, they reduce any suppression effects on the squad and gain bonus damage for the duration.

Repair: Allows the Eldar to repair various units and structures.

Guardian Squad Upgrades (Wargear)

Battle Equipment: The Eldar are given a package that contain plasma grenades and portable shields.

Warlock: A Warlock is summoned through the Webway to lead the Guardian Squad in battle; this requires a greater level of technology. Unlocks Embolden and grants a defensive bonus.

Eldar Shuriken Cannon

The Shuriken Cannon is a fearsome Eldar suppression weapon capable of extreme mobility. It has a limited firing arc and requires a setup time to get into firing position.

Rangers

Highly trained long range tactical experts, the Eldar Rangers are the first to set foot on new worlds and the first to open fire in battle. They can be upgraded to allow them Infiltration and access to Holo-Fields, cloaking devices that hide other units from sight.

Ranger Abilities

Fleet of Foot: The Eldar gain a burst of speed, this reduces their damage.

Suppressive Fire: By reducing damage inflicted the Rangers suppress their foes.

Infiltrate: Once unlocked by Pathfinder Gear, the Rangers can move undetected through the battle. If they get too close they can be detected, or if they attack then Infiltration is broken.

Holo-Field: This device unlocked with Pathfinder Gear allows the Rangers to conceal allied units in the field effect area.

Ranger Upgrades (Wargear)

Pathfinder Gear: This equips the Rangers with cloaking devices and Holo-Fields.

Howling Banshees

Vicious melee combatants, the Howling Banshees are led into battle by their Exarch, a powerful Eldar warrior that can wield the mighty Executioner, which tears enemy vehicles to shreds.

Aspect of Banshee: The Howling Banshees call on the Aspect of Banshee and are granted the War Shout ability. It also unlocks the Executioner for their Exarch.

One of the key elements of Eldar strategy is in hit and run tactics, the Warp Spider Squad are effective at jumping into the fray and jumping back out, using powerful teleporters they can attack swiftly and then relocate to safer ground.
