Driver: San Francisco on the PC will see the return of Ubisoft's inconvenient DRM system that requires a constant online connection. Confirmed over their Driver: SA Twitter account, Ubisoft announce that "PC version requires permanent internet connection".

Ubisoft's DRM used for curbing piracy had been previously found in games such as Assassin's Creed 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction and was received negatively, one of the main complaints is that the DRM punished paying customers while the games wound up being pirated. They did lessen the restrictions to the DRM over time but their decision with Driver shows that it is here to stay.
