A Nintendo UK spokesperson has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that the price of thier Wii console in Europe will be in line with the prices they announced for the console in the US and Japan yesterday.

According the the spokesperson, "UK pricing will be in line with Japan and the US.". Taking yesterdays prices of $250 and 25000 Yen, this puts the Wii somewhere between £120 and £135, however due to the VAT system this is likely to put the console somewhere around the £150 price point. Nintendo's pricing may seem very low compared to the price of the Xbox 360 and PS3, but it shows the sort of plans they must have for the console and continues the trend of pricing their consoles lower than the competition.
