10 Most Important FPS: Wolfenstein 3D

Why is it important?

There are only a handful of developers who say they actually created a full-fledged game genre but id Software is indeed one of them when it released the shareware version of Wolfenstein 3D. Almost all other first person shooters to this day take the basic gameplay lessons that id created for their game: the first person perspective for the player, making them feel they were actually in the game itself; the fast action; the hordes of enemies, the HUD below the action that shows health, ammo, and other items and many more features. The game became an underground shareware success for id and prepared the way for many great FPS to come.
