HomeLAN chats with Razer's vice-president of sales and marketing Klaus Maehleke about the present and future plans of the company:

HomeLAN - The Boomslang still uses the ball mouse design. Why are you keeping this design when most new PC mice are using laser features?

Klaus Maehleke - There is nothing wrong with the bevy of optical mice available everywhere today. They last longer and are cheaper to make than a ball mice. We firmly believe that for optimum gaming precision and accuracy, a really well made, high-resolution mechanical mouse will still outperform any optical or wireless mouse. If you're a serious gamer but too lazy to clean a mouse, then optical is just the ticket for you.
