Action Vault have posted part 1 of an interview with Executive Producer James Brooksby about Fire Warrior, the first-person shooter from THQ:

Action Vault: What circumstances led to Kuju undertaking to create a first-person action title set in this universe?

James Brooksby: When THQ approached over 30 developers, they asked for a game to be created from the Warhammer 40,000 license that would appeal to the mass market. Many developers approached THQ and Games Workshop with the idea to re-create the tabletop game exactly but in electronic form. However, Kuju proposed to make a first-person shooter, and first and foremost, to create a "gamers game" that exists within the Warhammer 40,000 world, a game that uses the fantastic artwork, characters, stories and settings of this world, but in its essence, is a game that gamers will be familiar with and enjoy as a high-quality, action-packed first person shooter.
