    HomeLAN - First, why was the decision made to make the Galactica game a prequel to the events of the original TV series?

    John Mamais - There were a couple of reasons (1) a war with the Cylons with a fleet of Colonial warships defending the colonies provides for a better action game setting (2) we wanted the creative license and basing the game exclusively on the classic or new series restricts us somewhat (3) we didn't know much about the new series until quite recently except that it was a 'remake' and we didn't want to contradict it or the original series too much but rather build onto a franchise - and creating a history for the series which works with both new and old seemed appropriate. We're only human.
