Another busy few weeks here, and a long time since the last blog post :S

We have recently added an Xbox Live leaderboard to the site as well as full achievement tracking. If you have already entered your gamercard details you will have been scanned by the tracker and your games list and achievements should be complete. If not, you can add your gamertag to your account and we will grab all the data on the next scan.

Achievements are also available on the GamePages. Each game that has data picked up by our members will have a full achievements list where you can see how many members have the achievement unlocked and the top scorers for that game.

We are also working on trackers for Steam, PSN and WoW to name but a few :)

Its been a busy few weeks for us here, with the Dragon Age II article performing very well thanks to a Bioware post on the main site and facebook page. And welcome to the new guys and comment posters.

You may have noticed a change to the site if you pay attention to the domain, yes we have moved from .net to .com - there are a number of reasons behind this, which I wont bore you with, but rest assured all pages will magically redirect you to the new .com domain and there should be very few issues.

We have also moved to newer servers. Hopefully this will speed things up and keep up ticking over for the next few years :) If there are any issues you spot, please do let us know via the contact form or the site messaging if you are a registered user.

Other than that you can expect the Xbox Live leaderboards to make a return as well as PS3 and Steam trackers - which makes a start. Other ideas we have are WoW achievement tracking and a cross platform gamercard to cover your tracked accounts. But thats likely to be sometime in the future as opposed to in the next few weeks type o thing.

Well were getting slower and slower on the updates, but we are not stopping developments :)

We have decided upon the method of handling DLC's/Expansions. We decided to give each one their own GamePage, so a DLC/Expansion can have images, videos, release dates, etc and by visiting the GamePage you can see only that expansions details. It also lets us handle release dates much easier so DLC's/Expansions will now be listed on the release dates page alongside full price games.

One other development weve done is tie the main game and its expansions together via a new Addons tab, which you can see here for World of Warcraft. This tab, when available, will list the DLC's/Expansions and some details with a link to that DLC/Expansion GamePage. Additionally, the GamePage of a DLC/Expansion will have a link back to the main game just below its title and next to the release date, as you can see here for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

We hope this will highlight games with expansions and also provide some additional information for DLC's/Expansions as to what game they are for.

Its been a while since we updated the development blog and there have been a number of changes on the site so its a good time to announce them.

The biggest addition to date is the activity feed, which forms part one of the member enhancements that also includes member levels and points (points will be used as part of a monthly competition  - though details of that will be coming very soon).

Currently we are tracking and displaying the following information:

• Registration
• Adding Friends
• Adding a game to your Games List
• Changing your Avatar
• Changing your Profile Picture

Of course, which is only a small part of what you can do on the site and is only a small part of what we can track. While we don't list comments, member reviews and game ratings, and cheat additions we are tracking them and they will be added to your profile once we are happy it is working.

Other than this, we have added the ability to delete games from your Games List and Changing your Password, a feature we somehow overlooked until now... Duh!

That's all for now.

Well its been pretty busy here. We've had lots of things to code and sections to update that we simply didn't have time to do for the launch. Here are a few things:

• We have opened the Downloads section once again, clicking the downloads tab at the top shows you a list of our downloads, the downloads are currently available on the Games Xtreme mirror, some other mirrors however have been closed so may not work.

• The RSS feed is working again, its been improved and now lists all the latest Articles, Videos and News.

• We have opened up the rest of our game database. We had for a long time many platforms but only updated the latest ones. However with the redesign we removed the PlayStation 2 filtering as it is no longer our top priority platform so to allow full access to the content we added a new tab at the top 'More' to list PlayStation 2.

One bright spark thought it would be a good idea to show all of our platforms and thats exactly what we have done. Now you can see all of our content going back as far as the Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and Gameboy Colour. We are also accepting new game data to these section so feel free to suggest new games.

Thats about it for this time. If you have any suggestions for new site sections, features, etc. let us know.

We have rolled out another helpful feature for you our users, Personal Messaging. When you are logged in you will find a link to your mailbox in the userbar at the top of the site, clicking that will take you to your Inbox where you can read new messages you were sent.

To send a message you have 2 options, you can simply click the Send PM link that is on each members profile pages or click the mail link in the userbar at the top of the site and then the Compose a Message tab. To send a message to more than one member start typing their name into the To textbox and choose their name from the list that appears.

I have added some new code that handles loading of Avatars and Profile Pictures. Now when you are logged in, simply clicking your Avatar or Profile Picture when you are on your profile page will open a series of boxes allowing to change them. You can also do this via a tab on the settings page.

Accepted formats are JPEG, GIF and PNG - Profile Pictures are 300 x 300 pixels while Avatars will get resized to both 50 x 50 pixels and 30 x 30 pixels.

Hello and welcome to the new Games Xtreme website.

We are proud to announce the latest version of Games Xtreme, which is bigger, better and an all singing and dancing application that will fulfil your every desire (portions of that sentance may not be completely accurate).

We have introduced a number of new features and expanded the contributions system (it was a bit lackluster) so that as members you can contribute more to the site and recieve the credit you deserve.

Some of you may remember Games Xtreme a few years ago when we allowed our members to have thier own columns. While a number of you took on this challenge it never really made it into future iterations of the site until now, where it is back, this time under the standard name for these things, the Blog.

You get to write about what you like, embed images, links and generally let us know what you are feeling. You can also attach a blog post to a game, so if you are talking about your latest shootout in Call of Duty 4 simply type 'Call of Duty 4' into the handy Associated Games box and choose it from the list that appears. Your blog will now be tagged with the game for all to see.

Now, Contributions. We have always allowed our users to contribute to the site in some way, now we let you do even more (or will do when its done). From today you can Submit Box Art, Suggest a Game we should list in our database, Write your Own Reviews and Rate a Game. We are reworking the Cheats/FAQ's submission process to make it easier and working on allowing you to edit sections of the gamepages to help us fill in data we might be missing, such as publisher/developer, official site links and the game release dates.

As you can expect we will of course credit you will a submission when it is approved. Your Profile contributions tab will list everything you contributed and who knows, contribute enough and you'll gain more power on the site :)

Speaking of your profiles, you'll see a much improved system. Your homepage lists your latest blog posts, a description you can fill in to let people know more about you and a random list of your games and friends. Your game Collection lists all of your games, with Genre/Platform charts and a handy box to let you add new games without having to leave the page.

Everyone is a critic and we agree, but its no good being a critic without having someone to listen to you, again we agree, thats why as a registered memeber you can review a game, disagree with our verdict or just want to rant and rave about a game? Well you can, every GamePage has a 'Write Review' link in the top right, click this link and fill in the form to write your own review. Every review is moderated before it is live, but unless you swear on every other word we are pretty sure to let it through.

You may notice that Comments and Forums have dissapeared, this is only temporary while we rework them but on thier return you will be able to comment on pretty much any article, video and user. Don't worry though, those of you who have already posted anything, it is all safe and will be available when we turn the code back on.
