Prince Francis has been sent to the kingdom of Kassel because there were three princesses at last count and since he is the only prince who can get through the bewitched woods, he might have a chance with one.
He travels with Iron Henry, the best soldier in the land. Iron Henry endures three iron bands around his heart protecting Francis from the witch of the woods. Now Francis is a frog, and desperate to get a princess to kiss him so he can turn back into a prince and save Henry.
In the meantime, Princess Emma dresses in her dead mother's clothes to try to invoke magic in the Golden Orb, the treasure of the kingdom, so she can call for help. Her elder sister is clever and kind. Her second sister is brave and beautiful. Neither believe Emma can do anything to stop the evil surrounding the kingdom, even though Emma is a True Princess and has golden magic.
When Francis meets Emma, he can't understand why she won't kiss him. Emma knows she will have to marry him if she kisses him, and she refuses to marry a frog. So Francis tricks her into accepting him as her pet. Not believing he is really a prince, Emma agrees to allow him in her room. But Francis shows he is a prince, and explains if he is allowed in her room, she will have to marry him. Emma runs away and Francis decides to try with the other princesses.
Even if Francis gets his kiss, he and Emma will still have to rescue Henry, and confront the witch of the woods whom no one has been able to defeat.
