Headup have announced that Brainwash Gang’s traumatic gated exploration game, Laika: Aged Through Blood is coming to PC on October 19, 2023. Console ports will also follow soon after.
We can best describe the game as a mix between Excitebike and Metroid. It’s a non-linear sidescroller with dirtbike mechanics and some heavy shooting (what a description, isn’t it?).
There’s plenty of violence and death here. You’ll take control of a badass mom who seeks vengeance after the birds decided to attack her village. To accomplish her goals, she’ll have to rely on her gun and a dirt bike. It’s not easy to aim and keep focus like that, but with the player’s help, there is no obstacle that is unsurmountable.
The whole concept is very fresh and unique. I’m totally digging the horror visuals and the soundtrack by Beicoli is one of the best things I’ve heard so far, honestly. You can check out the demo as well before you touch the full game.
