Versus Evil have announced that Jukai Studio’s horror game Stray Souls will launch on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on October 25, 2023.
The story takes place in the town of Aspen Falls, where the protagonist Daniel inherited his Grandmother’s house. The main problem here? Weeell, the city is full of monsters. Like, seriously, it’s loaded with them.
Eventually, he discovers that he's entangled in a ritual with roots tracing back to his birth. Stray Souls draws inspiration from Japanese survival horror classics, bearing noticeable echoes of Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Nevertheless, it teases players in a new way with the prospect of "mind-bending puzzles" followed by a narrative shaped by their choices. Developed by a modest-sized team, the game boasts the polished sheen of the Unreal 5 Engine and features the renowned Akira Yamaoka as a guest composer.
Stray Souls is coming to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on October 25, 2023.
