Stig Asmussen, the director behind critically acclaimed titles like EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is leaving EA “to pursue other adventures”.

The company issued a statement to Bloomberg, informing the public about his move and wishing him the best of luck.

“After careful thought and consideration, Stig Asmussen has decided to leave Respawn to pursue other adventures, and we wish him the best of luck,” an EA spokesperson told Bloomberg. “Veteran Respawn leaders will be stepping up to guide the team as they continue their work on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.”

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor were the first two installments which Asmussen told IGN he hoped would be a trilogy, and from today’s standpoint, it makes us wonder if the third game will even be possible without Asmussen in charge. But we can be hopeful.

Regarding Jedi: Survivor, Carter said that “after finishing up Jedi Survivor and immediately cleaning up what I had missed for fun, I found myself wishing for a world where Respawn Entertainment focused all of its energy on single-player games from here on out.”
