Maple Powered Games have announced that their G.I. Joe beat ’em up, G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG in Q1 2024.

The game promises both online and room co-op for up to four players in Arcade and Story Mode. Duke, Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Roadblock, and other classic characters are all present here and they’ll ensure that you have a blast for a while. We have a wonderful trailer to gawk at as well (you can check it out below) and it gives off those sweet and juicy nostalgic vibes that older folks like me are just dying for.

The music is done by Tee Lopes (the same guy behind those wonderful tunes that we can hear in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge) and we can even hear the vocals of Crush 40 vocalist Johnny Gioeli in the latest video. I can already say this will be a killer soundtrack. We also have a very quirky animation that does a great job at honoring the goofy spirit of the cartoon and it all ends with a sneak peek into in-development gameplay footage that looks like a slow-paced beat-em-up similar to The Punisher or Captain America.

We don’t know which familiar locations will be present in the game but it seems like the team is planning to include The Pit,” Cobra Island, and Cobra’s secret underwater base. The game will also have a parry system that will certainly come in handy when dealing with tricky enemies.
