Capcom will be reportedly address rain in Resident Evil 4 with a launch patch

Hopefully our eyes won’t be turning red anymore.

Speaking in an interview with Press Start, Hirabayashi Yoshiaki stated that the studio will be addressing the divisive rain in the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake in a day one patch.


The rain has appeared in several trailers, depicting Leon Kennedy and Ashley Graham’s escape from the church. Many people on social media pointed it out as being distracting and just…overbearing. Some of them have written essays and published videos on the matter.


Still, there is hope the same folks will find these words of Hirabayashi Yoshiaki soothing: “We’ve seen everyone’s reaction to the rain effects, and we are working on a day-one patch to make adjustments.”


Resident Evil 4 is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
