Square Enix have confirmed previous rumors, officially announcing that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series will be launching on PS4 and Nintendo Switch in the spring of 2023 after being previously released on PC and mobile platforms back in 20.

The Pixel Remaster series contains the first six mainline titles from the iconic RPG franchise but with slightly improved visuals, a redesigned UI, overhauled controls, and some cutting-edge quality-of-life features. And of course, the entire soundtrack was compared by the series veteran Nobuo Uematsu.

Square Enix have also added that all six games will be available for purchase both as separate releases and as a bundle (digitally). On top of that, two physical releases were also announced as Square Enix store exclusives, but sadly, due to the late-night timing of the official announcement, both of them have already been sold out while most fans were eagerly waiting for any signal from the company. As a result, we have a “waiting list” for a $75 Standard Edition and a $260 Anniversary Edition on the Square Enix Store and we can only hope both editions will be restocked at some point.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series is a great way for new players to witness the birth of a legendary franchise and old players to relive all the glorious moments from the first six Final Fantasy games but with a modern makeover.
