Techland, the studio behind Dying Light, have announced that they are working on a brand new open-world fantasy RPG.

The CEO Pawel Marchewka issued a statement saying:

“Our ambition is to introduce a brand new IP that is vastly different from what we have been doing for the past several years. We want to create a fully next-gen experience. A new fantasy epic set in a sprawling open world, fueled by the skills and experience we have gained as a team over the years, infused with new ideas, passion, and creativity.

“While we cannot share more details about this project now, we’re all truly invested in it and looking forward to showing it to gamers when the time is right.”

This is the only thing we know about this project right now, and at this point, we only have a single piece of concept art to gawk at. Techland recruited a number of veterans from companies like Arkane, Guerrilla Games, and even CD Projekt Red, so this ought to be really good. Arkadiusz Borowik and Karolina Stachyra, the duo that used to serve as narrative lead and narrative director on the original The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings are working on this project as well.

Let’s hope we hear about this game in the near future. Fingers crossed!
