The official Twitter account for The Witcher Netflix series has revealed that Season 3 is now officially in production.

The announcement also came along with a picture of the cast in crew in some kind of snowy environment as the production takes place.

We also have the official synopsis and this is what it says: “As monarchs, mages and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protect fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers. Instead, they discover they’ve landed on a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.”

The second season launched back in December, pulling in an impressive total of 142.4 million hours in the first week already (that is, according to Netflix’s own statistics). The show gets better and better with each new episode and there is no doubt that season 3 will be a blast to watch as well.

Meanwhile, Netflix is also working on the second season of the anime and a “fun-filled Witcher kids and family series” while CD Projekt Red announced that a new game set in The Witcher universe is currently in development. Lots of great stuff for The Witcher fans recently.

We don’t know when Season 3 will air just yet, but we will keep you updated.
