SNK and Code Mystics have announced that the much-vaunted rollback netcode will be implemented in the PC version of The King of Fighters ’98: Ultimate Match – Final Edition. The update will be available on Steam this winter, following a series of beta tests this ensure its stability.


Final Edition is a revamped version of the 2008 release The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match which is a revamped version of the classic arcade hit The King of Fighters ’98. Final Edition includes all of the hard-hitting team-based combat that the original game had, spruced up with online play, a fresh balance update, and a range of additional modes including Practice, Challenge, Endless, and a brand new “Ultimate Mode”.


If you’re a die-hard King of Fighters fan, this news should certainly please you. The addition of rollback netcode will give you a solid foundation to keep playing the game for years on end. You may also want to check out the sequel (King of Fighters XV) that will launch in early 2022.
