There were some speculations going around and many people predicted that Koei Tecmo has something in store and that it's just waiting to be announced. And, whaddya know, they were completely right. A sequel to the third Warriors Orochi game has been announced and it's set for international release this year.

It should be noted that this is the first core game in the critically acclaimed franchise ever since 2012 (who would say that so many years passed already?). Although the Japanese developers didn't confirm the exact release date, we know that the game is definitely coming to the Western market at some point this year. This brief piece of information that we got doesn't say what platforms will be getting this game either but, I am fairly confident that both PS4 and Xbox One will be on that list. As for Nintendo Switch, sadly, I am not convinced (or least not for now).

As you may guess just by looking at the earlier games in this franchise, we should expect to see a nice mix of characters from both the Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors series and we will probably see some nice additions as well. Whether we are going to get an open-world setting as well, it remains to be seen.
