Blast 'Em Bunnies Review

There are games that have involved, convoluted plots, and then there are some that are as basic as can be, this falls into the latter category.  The premise (such as it is) is that you are a rabbit, (look we are grown up's, I ain't gonna call them Bunnies OK?) on guard duty. It's a warm sunny day, bees are buzzing, squirrels are squirelling etc etc when suddenly the alarm goes off!

Here they come! Wave after wave of invading rabbits, using nefarious means to beat you and steal your carrots! What's a rabbit to do? Lock and load and blast them, that's what. There you go, that's the plot, hardly Shakespeare and the game play is as basic as it comes as well.

Look I'll be honest, this is probably going to break the record for being one of the shortest reviews on this site!

Level Design.

This is as basic as it can be. The opening field is where you will spend most of your time until....well get this, you buy them. Yup you read it right, BUY them. You can battle away until you have enough credits to open new levels or you can use real money to purchase new battlefields, though that begs the question just who would want to do that?

Rabbit..rabbit...rabbit...

You will see a variety of rabbits during the game and there are others out there, such as the Zombie rabbit. and the err Throat Slitter. Yup you read that right, the Throat Slitter, which begs the question just who is this game aimed at? It looks kiddie friendly but with a Throat Slitting Rabbit, that sort of counters that idea. There are some novel types, such as the Diggers and the Hang Glider Rabbits but again it's a case of if you want to see others, either battle on and on and purchase with in game tokens or score rewards, OR use real money to unlock them in advance. Call me cynical, but this seems just an excuse to shake more change out of your pockets.

A bad case of static....

This does not mean the game will give you electric shocks, it means that you can only swing your turret gun around 360 degrees to shoot your enemies, there is no CoD type moving around the battle field. Now if you could do that then that may have given this game some much needed oomph..but sadly it does not. It's restricted movement means restrictive gameplay, and it soon becomes well, sorry to say, repetitive and boring. There are coins to try and shoot which seems an odd way of collecting bonuses, and there are crates that give you new ammo types that remind me of some of the weaponry in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare but that's where the resemblence ends.

Online play, Multiplayer..where are you?

Well the answer is all of the above are absent so you don't even have that to liven things up. Maybe some kind of co-op or local based competitive mode would have livened this up but no, what you see is what you get and it's all you get. It's not often that I say this, but I have to. This game is just not worth your time and it certainly is NOT worth a penny of your money. Look elsewhere for your gaming fun, it's sadly lacking here. Best just bury it and leave it on the compost heap.....
