Nintendo have officially confirmed that it is working on a new home console and that specifications and a playable model will be at this years E3.

Codenamed Project Cafe, the console was always known to be under development and this is the first time Nintendo have officially revealed any details.

The company have stated it will be available in 2012 and will be on show at E3 this year in June when we will all get to know what it can do.

Already known is that it will be more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PS3 and that the controller will come with a built in screen - how this will be used is anyones guess, but we can all come up with some ideas.

Developers have made it known that they have been working on launch games for the console, including Donkey Kong Country Returns developer Retro Studios and GTA developer Rockstar Games.
